    To obtain a life & health license in Maryland, you must: 1. Complete a pre-licensing study course. 2. Pass the state licensing exam. 3. Submit fingerprints for a background check. 4. Apply for the license.

    If you fail, you can retake the exam. However, you'll need to pay the exam fee again and reschedule the exam.
