How Do I Get My Utah Life and Health License?

Complete This Utah Insurance License Study Course

Before you take your license exam, you’ll need to study in order to gain the knowledge that you’ll need to successfully pass the state license exam.

 

Take and Pass the State License Exam

Insurance license exams are provided by Prometric in Utah. We suggest scheduling your license exam very soon after completing your study course so that you retain what you have just learned. You will need to pay an exam fee of $44 (life & health combo) or $32 (life only or health only)  at the time of scheduling. The exam requires a passing score of 70%.

 

Register for Fingerprinting

Utah requires that all candidates submit to a simple background check. You will need to schedule with Prometric for fingerprints as well. Your fingerprints are valid for up to 1 year.

 

Apply for Your Insurance License

You can apply for your license at NIPR after the above steps have been completed. You’ll have one year to apply after passing your license exam.
