How Do I Get My License?

Complete a Texas P&C Insurance License Study Course

Before you take your license exam, you’ll need to study in order to gain the knowledge that you’ll need to successfully pass the state license exam. 

 

Pass the Insurance License Exam

Insurance license exams are provided by Pearson Vue in Texas. We suggest scheduling your license exam very soon after completing your study course so that you retain what you have just learned. You will need to pay an exam fee of $43 (property and casualty) at the time of scheduling. The exam requires a passing score of 70%. 

 

Register for Fingerprinting

Texas requires that all candidates submit to a simple background check. You will need to register with IdentiGo. Your fingerprints are valid for up to 1 year. 

 

Apply for Your Insurance License

You can apply for your license at Sircon after the above steps have been completed. You’ll have one year to apply after passing your license exam.
