Looking to get your Tennessee Life and Health insurance license? We’ll breakdown the basic requirements for you to simplify the process. Insurance producers have an unlimited income potential and there are plenty of other good reasons to consider a profession in the insurance industry.
Requirements
Each state has various requirements to be eligible for an insurance license. In Tennessee, the Department of Insurance generally requires;
- The applicant is at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Resides in Tennessee (non-resident licenses are available, which is explained in our course).
- The applicant is competent, trustworthy, financially responsible, and has a good business reputation.
- The applicant is required to pass an examination.
Enroll in a Study Course
Preparing to pass your license exam is the first step in obtaining your license. The Tennessee insurance licensing exam can be challenging if you take the exam unprepared. If you’ve never been in the insurance industry before, you’ll need to learn some new lingo, phrases, and concepts. However, after completing a insurance study course, you’ll be well prepared and equipped to confidently pass the exam.
Schedule and Pass the Tennessee Licensing Exam
Once you have studied and completed the course, it’s time for you to schedule your license exam with Pearson Vue, which is Tennessee’s exam provider. We recommend that you take the state exam within a few days after you've completed your study course, so that you retain the information that you have learned.
