Basic Requirements

Each state has various requirements to be eligible for an insurance license. In Tennessee, the Department of Insurance generally requires;

  • You need to be at least 18 years of age.
  • Reside in Tennessee (non-resident licenses are available, which is explained in our course).
  • You will be required to pass an examination.

Enroll in a Study Course

Preparing to pass your license exam is the first step in obtaining your license. The Tennessee insurance licensing exam can be challenging if you take the exam unprepared. If you’ve never been in the insurance industry before, you’ll need to learn some new lingo, phrases, and concepts. However, after completing a study course, you’ll be well prepared and equipped to confidently pass the exam.

Schedule and Pass the Licensing Exam

Once you have studied and completed the course, it’s time for you to schedule your license exam with Pearson Vue, which is Tennessee’s exam provider. We recommend that you take the state exam within a few days after you've completed your study course, so that you retain the information that you have learned.
